When we first moved into our house, I h.a.t.e.d the wooden coat rack in the front entrance. I thought it was way too country and I vowed to one day remove it. Well as you can see, that day has come.
Here’s the thing, the coat rack is actually super practical. I hate to admit it, but somewhere in the past two years I’ve leaned to tolerate this small piece of country style furniture. While, I’ve learned tolerate the coat rack, I cannot deny that it was one ugly piece of furniture in its unfinished state.
I pondered what to do about the ugly rack. After months of procrastination, I decided it was time to paint the rack and hang it back up. So while Eric was at work, I went out and bought a small bucket of Sarah Richardson’s Buttercup Paint (Para SR51).
I like the coat rack a lot more now that it is buttercup yellow. It may not be the most stylish piece of furniture in the world but at least it is bright and cheerful.
Here is what the coat rack used to look like before I took it off the wall and painted it:
Here is another shot of what it looks like now:
Did you notice another significant difference? Yes the walls are a different color, they have been painted Sarah Richardson’s Surf (Para SR31). Keeping looking there is something else… The ugly old 1990s non-functioning security box is finally gone!!! Woot Woot!
Also do you like my adorable heart print from the Rifle Paper Co.? It was only $12
I am going to leave it here for today but you should know there are some pretty exciting updates happening in our front entrance over the next few weeks. Stay tuned to see what happens next with this wee little space!
