There is nothing quite like sitting around with a good friend and knitting. I am grateful to MJ for being extremely patient and teaching me how to knit this week. I am currently working on an easy dishcloth (I found the free pattern on ravelry.com) Once I finish three clothes I will move onto something else. For now I will stick with this simple pattern. Here is the pattern:
My first dish cloth:
- Cast on 4 stitches
- Knit 4
- Knit 2, Yarn Over, Knit to End
- Repeast Row 2 until 44 stitches
- Knit 1, Knit 2 together, Yarn Over, knit 2 together, Knit to end
- Repeat until 4 stitches are left
- Cast off
My dish cloth looks awful and it is full of holes but it a good way to practice. In the meantime I continue to surf ravelry.com searching their free patterns for projects that I intend to complete when I am a better knitter!
If anyone is trying to figure out how to do a new stich check Youtube, there are tons of videos. I have friends how taught themselves how to knit by watching these videos!

You are lucky you had a friend to teach you- I had to teach myself on YouTube after a failed attempt with my aunt over the holidays a few years ago. I feel lucky I even know how to knit and purl. But now I love knitting. I need to not forget it- my obsession with sewing is so strong right now- if my needles had a voice they would be crying- ha!
