Before Eric and I went on vacation I decided to plant an herb garden as part of our Kicking it Old School Series. I choose to plant basil, mint, rosemary and sage because they are the ones I purchase at the grocery store most often. I splurged and bought seedlings from the nursery. What can I say… I don’t have the patience to grow my herbs from seeds. Fresh herbs are the best. They can make a meal, especially if it involves pasta.
These days, my herbs are living outside enjoying the summer sunshine. I am not sure which window I will stick them in once the frost sets in. The problem with our house is that it is surrounded by large pine trees that block a lot of sunlight. Erin Bried suggests a south facing window as the ideal location. She notes that a sunny east or west window will also do.
