This weekend, Eric and I took advantage of the great weather and went camping in Kananaskis with a few friends. Here are a few photos from the weekend.
The drive from Calgary is a quick one. We had dinner in Calgary and made it to our campsite at Boulton Creek in less than 2 hours. I have done this drive countless times and it is so beautiful. I can honestly say, it never gets old. One of the amazing things about Alberta are the long summer nights. This photo was taken after 7PM!
On Saturday, we cooked lunch along the Kanaskis River and enjoyed our smokies with more amazing views. Here is a photo of Eric on the edge of the Kananaskis River. We are standing just past a spot on the river called the Widow Maker, which is popular with kyakers.
On Sunday, we packed up our campsite and enjoyed a few more sites, most notably a quick walk around the Upper Lakes. It was a hot day and the breeze coming off the water was super refreshing.
Living in the rockies is such a treat! We are so lucky to have this beautiful space so close to home! Hope your weekend was as wonderful as mine!
