Happy New Year Everyone! Are you hung over? If you are reading my blog, probably not… My guess it that you ready to face the new year head on with a weekend embellishment project!!
To be honest, I am not sure how I will be doing… I cheated a bit, this is a pre-scheduled post!
Let me preface this post by saying that walking into J Crew makes me sad. As a new grad their clothes are way out of my price range! Even if I had the money, I am now committed to living handmade and that makes J crew off limits. Here are some great DIY embellishment projects inspired by the oh-so-expensive clothes at J Crew.
J Crew Inspired Cardigan
J Crew Ribbon Neckline Inspired Shirt
J Crew Inspired Floral Edged Jacket
So take some of your old and tired clothes and transform them into something shiny and new this long weekend. This is a great way to look chic and unique while saving money. Just think, instead of feeling guilty for dropping a wad of cash on a cardigan you can feel extra pleased with yourself for saving money and doing something good for the environment! Based on all of this, I think that embellishing old clothes might be very good for my marriage!
Looking for further inspiration? Anthropologie has many gorgeous pieces embellished with delicate details. I received a fabulous baby blue sweater embellished with a light green ruffle and white flowers for Christmas from my grandma. Also remember that you find inspiration around your home. I have a great button collection and I think I am going to try and find a way to incorporate them into the mix. Stay tuned to see what I come up with!
