Gurgle Pot

by Kristen on June 28, 2010

Last week I went to a couple of bridal showers and now that they are finished I am excited to share what I bought for both lovely brides… the whimsical and fun fish-shaped gurgle pot!

The gurgle pot is a brightly coloured fish-shaped pot that makes a gurgling noise when the pot is set down after pouring (to hear click here).  Designer and anglophone Matt Ellison got the idea when he stayed with a rural French family that spoke no English.  Matt recalls that the French family had a similar pitcher and every time it was poured the awkward silence at the dinner table was broken by smiles and laughter.  In addition to being an excellent conversation piece the gurgle pot comes in a variety of colours and is a stylish addition to any home.  I think it is perfect for warm summer days out in the back yard!

So what do you think…did I do OK buying off the registry??  I think so!

Do you have a catalogue on your website? I am interested in looking at the gurgle pot and the price as well as any other items to go with it i.e. salt & pepper shakers etc. Thank you.

We were looking for GurglePots for Christmas, both the large and mini and found them at a cool kitchen shop, The Bitchen Kitchen in Pentwater, MI. They also have the salt & peppers. They do have a website so you can buy them online. I actually bought one for myself and the grandkids love it.
