In the last week I have started looking from fabric to reupholster the dining room chairs I purchased off Kijiji. I started looking at a few local stores but found the price tag of upholstery fabric to be incredibly expensive. The cheapest upholstery fabric I have found locally to date is $80.00 a yard.
Instead of getting discouraged, I started looking online and I have found several great sources for buying fabric over the internet. Below I am sharing some of my favourite online stores.
House fabric sells a variety of stylish and affordable home decor fabric including a selection of eco friendly fabrics made with organic natural fibres and low impact dyes.
Textiles Arts offers a variety of retro, mid-century modern, contemporary Scandinavian and organic textiles. In addition to a great variety of fabrics they also carry shower curtains, tea towels and wallpaper.
At Aunt Bea’s you can find a wide selection of modern, Japanese and organic fabrics.

In addition to this Contemporary Cloth strives to to support artists and to donate 1% of their net sales to St. Herman’s House of Hospitality, in Cleveland, Ohio, which assists persons who are homeless.
