I am looking for new lighting in my house. I am really interested in finding vintage lighting that can help restore some of the character in my 100 year-old home. My husband on the other hand, would prefer ultra-modern looking fixtures (it is always a challenge to combine our two styles). Considering my quest to buy handmade, Big Box Stores are not going to cut it. Of course, my initial reaction was to turn to Etsy. Here are a list of five Etsy stores where you can find amazing and unique hand-made lighting for your home.
-
Lamp Goods: Lamp Goods has amazing vintage inspired finds at great prices. At Lamp Goods new pieces are created by using frosted, etched and milkglass vintage glass globes and pairing them with new sockets and wiring which are verified by a licensed electrician. My favorite pieces include the Alexis Rare Vintage Pair of Schoolhouse Pendants featured below.
-
The Blue Cabinet: The blue Cabinet produces some amazing modern-yet-vintage inspired pieces including the Handcrafted Blue Vintage Ball Mason 3 Jar Pendant Light featured below. I love the shabby-chic/ modern Anthropologie inspired vibe of this piece and I think it would look fab above a dining room table. For EBN and I this may be the perfect marriage of our two styles…
- Re-Surface: RE-SURFACE is a Brooklyn-based boutique, factory and design studio established by Donna Brady. They produce a gorgeous range of hand-crafted lighting “with art at heart, and design in mind.” I linked to their website but they also have an Etsy store. It is also worth noting that this gorgeous design was featured on HGTV. For more details, check out their website or Etsy store.
- Filigree Creations: Simple, chic and Modern. At Filigree Creations you will find a beautiful assortment of colorful lamps made out of sewing thread and water based non-toxic glue. If you do not see a lamp in the color you are looking for, contact Filigree Creations to place a custom order.
- Kam Lamp Company: The Cam Lamp Company produces hand-made and custom lighting fixtures for your home. They feature a great mix of pieces ranging from hand blown minimalist glass lights to a fun and quirky cork covered drum-shade pendent (featured below).
So what do you think? Any stand out faves? I am in LOVE with everything at Lamp Goods but will have to sell my husband on the traditional vibe… wish me luck!

1) Are you really a librarian??? I think that would be the coolest job ever- only if I could read all day though.
2) I LOVE etsy.
3). Thanks for finding my new light fixtures for me (Although I’ve got awhile before I’ll actually have a house to install them in) – I like the mason jar ones, I’ve got some super old big mason jars that I bought at a flea market for my wedding. I think I (and by I- I mean ‘my husband’) could make them into a light fixture.

As we get ready for our first baby to arrive we are re doing the house, and i prefer not to get everything from Ikea!!
So many of the smaller items are from places like Etsy and local artists!
