It’s that time again in Calgary… Stampede time! For those of you who have never heard of the Calgary Stampede it is an annual rodeo, exhibition and festival held every year in Calgary, Alberta. Called the greatest outdoor show on earth the Stampede attracts over a million visitors a year and includes a parade, midway, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competition, chuck wagon races and First Nations exhibitions. The city is a buzz during the Stampede. People dress up in western wear and there are free BBQ lunches and pancake breakfasts all over the city. It is a great time to live in Calgary!
When I was a kid I used to come and visit my Aunty K in Calgary to check out the Stampede. My favorite memories are attending the parade and scrambling for candy, riding the midway rides and, checking out the super dogs! In celebration of the Calgary Stampede here are my Etsy picks:
