Easter is just around the corner and this is the first year that Eric and I will not be home to spend the holiday with our families. Since we won’t make it home for the holiday I wanted to send something special to the family. To make up for this, I spent Sunday afternoon making easter themed cookie mixes. These cookie mixes are really quick and easy to make. They are also adorable!
I used Bakerella’s recipe for Cowgirl Cookies as the base for my Easter cookies. Bakerella blows my mind. From cake pops to cup cakes everything on this blog looks so damn tasty! I followed the Cowgirl Cookie recipe very closely, only leaving out the nuts. To check out Bakerella’s reicpe click here.
Instead of using her labels I made my own Easter themed version. To make my labels I used free scallop medallion clip art from Pugly Pixel, which is one of my favourite sources of free clip art on the web. I also used of Geomancy and Franchise typefaces, two of my favorite free fonts. If you want to print my labels and whip up a batch of these lovely cookie jar gifts click for the Happy Easter label, the Easter Cookies label and the directions.
I thought about using Mini Eggs instead of M&M’s but was worried that they would be too big. Next year I will have to making these cookies with Mini Eggs before hand to see how they turn out. I really love mini eggs.

Do I get one of these?!
I am sending them back to E-Town with Dave and Brenda so yes! Would you like one??
No vegan version?! Just kidding. Sort of.
Don’t worry Tracy you get a special treat too!
haha no you really don’t have to! I was just joking! The only gift I really wanted was the presence of you and Eric.
Just adorable. These look amazing, but I’m afraid I would just scoop out the mix & eat it and never bake it! Hope you had a wonderful Easter. XOL
Hey Happy Homemaker! Thanks for the compliment! The M&Ms really are the best part. I barely ate any since they were buried under all that sugar! Thanks for stopping by!
