After a hectic month of new beginnings I am back blogging. Last time I blogged was before taking off on holidays to visit my aunt in Barbados. EBN and I had an amazing trip…good weather, good food and good company!
One of my favourite places to buy handmade and local in Barbados is Earthworks. Earthworks is a family-run handmade pottery studio. Located up in the hills of Barbados next to the On the Wall art gallery, Earthworks is a great place to take in Island inspired artwork.
Started by artist Goldie Spieler in 1983, Earthworks is now run by her son David who can be found in the studio working the pottery wheel. Walking through the Earthworks studio you will find an assortment of brightly coloured and whimsical pottery pieces. The vibrant colours of the terracotta pottery capture the landscape and spirit of Barbados. Looking at this pottery you are reminded of the blue-green sea, the vibrant blue sky and the bright yellow sun.
All pieces are microwave safe, dishwasher safe, lead free and food safe. You can find vases, unique serving pieces, bathroom accessories or entire table settings which come in 36 different patterns. In addition to their large selection of pre-made pottery the artists at Earthworks also undertake custom projects. In the past custom projects have included custom handmade clay tiles and even a bathroom sink!
If you don’t have plans to visit Barbados but love their stuff you can check out their website and order certain pieces online.
Since my holiday in beautiful Barbados I have started a new job in a new city, sold my condo and bought my very first house. The house is incredible!! It is nearly 100 years old and located in the quaint Calgary neighbourhood of Inglewood. Stay tuned for more details!!

Thanks so much for the nice review, though it has taken several months to discover that you have written it. Anyway, just wanted to say ‘keep on toxing the tox box’. Thanks again!!
