A couple months ago I bought nine parsons chairs for a steal of a deal on Kijiji. I bought them knowing that I would have to recover them and this week I finally got around to ordering a couple of fabric samples. I started off by ordering a yard in two separate fabrics before buying all the necessary fabric. I thought it was important to get a better feel for the fabric color and scale. I also wanted to see the fabric in person to make sure it looks good with our upholstered ottoman which is cream with blue and avocado geometric pattern.
I ended up buying the fabric from Contemporary Cloth. This online retailer may sound familiar to you if you are a regular reader because I featured it last week in my guide to online fabric stores post (Click here to check it out). I decided to order two fabrics by designer Alexander Henry. I ordered a sample of the Canyon Butterfly (left) and the Heath (right).
At first I was a little nervous about this purchase but I was able to talk myself into it. I realized that if these fabrics don’t work out for my chairs they will make cute tote bags, cushions or maybe even an apron. At any rate, I am really excited!!
This is the first time I have ever ordered fabric online. Do you ever purchase fabric from online stores? If so, where do you like to shop?
