About Big Box Detox
We are Kristen and Eric. Kristen the librarian and Eric the PhD student. Spending the better part of the last ten years at university has cramped our style and left us feeling bloated. We need to detox. Big Box Detox that is.
We are cutting out the chain stores, becoming less reliant on big box retailers and more self-sufficient.
We’re on the lookout for fabulous independent and handmade design finds. We’re also embarking on several adventures (and misadventures) in DIY and going off on the occasional rant. Follow our quest and join the wave as we work towards stylish living with a conscience.

I am also a librarian (though still looking for my first “career” position – I’m an assistant at an academic library right now), so its always fun to find someone in the same profession with similar hobbies!
